When we built our home, almost 12 years ago, it never occurred to me the ways that I would come to use the double ovens. Yes, on holidays they are SOOO useful, but, for the most part, don't get used to bake.
They make for great storage in the cold weather when the country mice are coming in and looking for a bit of bread or chips (Cheetos are a favorite for our mice). But one must always be aware of constantly using the SAME oven for the SAME job. Disaster can strike when the cookies are mistakingly hidden in the upper oven and the oven preheated for dinner. Strange, it smells like cookies. COOKIES!!!!!
The stacks look almost like iced cinnamon rolls. If I could just trust the kids, AKA S., to not eat sooo many, I wouldn't have to hide them. Amazingly, I was able to get all of the plastic off of the wire oven rack after it cooled, and S. swears that I can trust her now, she doesn't want to lose ALL of the cookies again!
