Well I have joined Cerri and Cindy, and we will be showing off some of the goodness that inspires us, every other sunday. Visit Cerri's blog to find a listing of all of the other participants. This weeks focus is on figurines. It took a bit for me to come up with something that kind of fit the bill, seems that odd stuff dominates around here! As I gradually found things around the house, I was amazed to discover that I seem to have a white bird thing going.
The duck in the back is an old lawn sprinkler, see the hose connection and the holes are along the side of his bill and the top of his head, and his head spins as the water goes through. I also have a thing for advertising pieces, once again, they seem to be white as well, and also in the shape of animals.
The only human type form that I have is a mermaid that is next to my sink in the bathroom. It was my Grandmothers, and as a child my mother always covered my eyes as we went into Grandma's bathroom so that I wouldn't see her breasts. When my Grandmother asked if there was anything that she had that I would want, the mermaid soap dish was all that I wanted. She was SO proud to give it to me, knowing how much I wanted it, and she wrapped it up in a quilt and brought it too me. She forgot that it was in the quilt and she whipped the quilt open to show me what she had been working on and the mermaid sprung wings, and landed in three pieces! Grandma was in tears, but she was salvaged and I love her anyway, and I think of my Grandma daily!
And then there are these tow tin creatures. Dean just had to have the robot at an estate sale, really had to have it! And I made the tin doll during a class at ArtFest a couple of years ago with Janet Cooper. It actually looks kinda like us.
Hope that you enjoyed this little show and tell. I really enjoyed the little discoveries about myself while getting these bits together. Have a blessed day!
Oh I love all of your animals! They are great. That duck is great! The two little yellow chicks are great! Are those chalkware? And your mermaid is wonderful. How funny your Mom covered your eyes! Thanks for playing Show & Tell with us this Sunday!

I love your lamb!! The mermaid is a little "I dream of Geanie" with that hair, very cute. That story reminds me of when I visit my grandma's- there are breasts everywhere though, lol!
