As promised, I have been getting some things done around the house. However, nothing of photo worthiness. As I was trying to decide what to tackle first, I happened to open the dreaded junk drawer. We are lucky enough to have an antique railroad counter as a breakfast bar, that just so happens to have 4 drawers in it, and everyone of them has turned into a junk drawer of sorts. It seemed like a pretty good place to start, and I must admit that they are looking pretty good.
I have to share the words to the song "Almost Home" by Mary Chapin Carpenter
Saw my life this morning, lying at the bottom of the drawer.
All this stuff I'm saving, God knows what this junk is for.
And whatever I believed in, this is all I have to show,
What the hell were all the reasons for holding on for such dear life, here's where I let go.
Chorus
I'm not running, I'm not hiding, I not reaching, I just resting in the arms of the great wide open, gonna pull myself in, and I'm almost home.
And I saw you this morning, you were staring back at me.
From an ancient photograph, stuck between some letters and some keys.
I was lost for a moment, in the ache of old goodbyes. Sometimes all that we can know is, there's no such thing as no regrets, but baby it's alright.
Chorus.
We visited an art show this weekend and I did buy a painting, hopefully the sun is out tomorrow and I'll get a nice picture of it to share with you. It's a lovely still life of a spring bouquet! Just what I was looking for. May peace be in your days and drawers!
Good luck with the junk drawers! The words to that song certainly hit home! Happy Monday! Hugs! C
