Today is a day of sharing words, poetry and all that we hold dear. You can visit LK Ludwigs blog to visit the list of others that are participating. I am going to share a poem that has helped me in so many way to come to accept the person that I am and that I am becoming. It has hung in my art room for many, many years.
Finding Her Here
I am becoming the woman I've wanted,
grey at the temples,
soft body, delighted,
cracked up by life
with a laugh that's known bitter
but, past it, got better,
knows she's a survivor-
that whatever comes,
she can outlast it.
I am becoming a deep weathered basket.
I am becoming the woman I've longed for,
the motherly lover
with arms strong and tender,
the growing up daughter
who blushes surprises.
I am becoming full moons and sunrises.
I find her becoming,
this woman I've wanted,
who knows she'll encompass,
who knows she's sufficient,
knows where she's going
and travels with passion.
Who remembers she's precious,
but knows she's not scarce-
who knows she is plenty,
plenty to share.

I'd also like to share one of my all-time favorite cd's. I hope that you can find it somewhere, I bought it in 1995 when the movie The Postman (IL Postino) came out ( it's the soundtrack).
The lovely part is that the first half of the cd is of poetry readings by famous artists, reading a collection of poetry by Pablo Neruda. The poetry readings are not part of the motion picture, just in case you are thinking of renting it. It has the power to completely change my day and put me in a peaceful state of pure bliss and creativity. The music is transporting, as well.
Have a blessed day absorbed in words.
